I.T.S Pad Drills 1 to 5

 

 

        Each pad drill is made up of a combination of seven techniques which have to be

b        executed in close succession, efficiently and from both an orthodox  

(         right leg back) and a southpaw (left leg back) guard. 

 

 

 

 Drill 1        

 

1-     Obverse punch.

2-     Obverse backfist.

3-     Reverse punch.

4-     Reverse inward knifehand strike (reverse arm).

5-     Obverse punch.

6-     Reverse punch.

7-     Rear leg front snap kick.

 

 

          Drill 2

 

1-     Obverse front kick.

2-     Obverse turning kick.     

  Pad holder – Right arm high section pad swing.

                   3-     Obverse rising block.

4-     Reverse punch.

5-     Obverse backfist.

6-     Reverse punch.

7-     Rear leg Jump front snap kick.

 

 Drill 3

 

  Pad holder Right arm low section pad swing.

1-       Obverse low block.

2-       Reverse punch.

3-       Obverse upset punch.

4-       Reverse punch.

5-       Obverse hook kick.

6-       Obverse turning kick.

7-       Rear leg spinning crescent kick.

 

 

  Drill 4

 

1-                 Obverse back fist.

2-                 Reverse punch.

3-                Obverse turning kick, side kick combination

         (single chamber).

4-                 Back kick, land in southpaw guard.

Pad holder Right leg front kick.

5-      Reverse arm low block.

6-      Rear leg spinning hook kick.

7-                Rear leg spinning crescent kick.

 

  Drill 5

 

      Pad holder – Right arm high section pad swing.

1-                 Obverse rising block.

2-                 Reverse punch.

      Pad holder – Reverse punch.

            3-       Bob and weave (left to right).

            4-       Obverse inwards to outwards crescent kick.

            5-       Rear leg push front kick.

            6-       Step over 360º jump turning kick.

            7-       Spinning crescent kick.

 

 

N.B.   All drills assume both student and pad holder begin in         orthodox guard.
